Working together, I will move you and/or your team or organization in the desired direction to reach your goals. My goal-oriented outlook on life and my passion for helping others reach their goals led me to join the John Maxwell Team and to create Leader By Design.

Prior to joining the team, I spent over 20 years in the Federal Government as a Supervisory Investigator. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Western Kentucky University and a Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. Leadership has been a part of my life from an early age.Throughout my leadership journey, I have discovered words have power. As I was growing up, my mother gave me some powerful advice and said “Lead By Example.” Early on, I took her advice to heart and it profoundly affected the course of my life.

Throughout school, I held leadership positions in various clubs. For over 20 years, I have been a supervisor investigator for the federal government. Since 1994, I have taught a CPA review course and trained and equipped thousands of students to pass the CPA exam. I teach Accounting Fraud and Ethics courses at Keller Graduate School of Management and help students solidify their knowledge of concepts. I also teach Public Speaking at VanderCook College of Music. In my spare time, I enjoy writing children’s books with foundational phrases inspired by my mother.

Since 2007, I have held leadership positions in District 30 Toastmasters and earned various communication and leadership awards. In 2012-13, I served as District Governor for District 30 Toastmasters in the Chicagoland area (Cook, DuPage, Lake, and McHenry counties) and was responsible for directly overseeing 233 Toastmasters clubs and managing the district’s day-to-day operations, finances, and human resources. I empowered district leadership teams to work together to fulfill the district mission, while ensuring each officer developed as a leader.

My communication skills and leadership experience formed a perfect union and provided me the opportunity to add value to others. It is not always easy juggling the list of daily responsibilities effectively. This is why you must have a structured and practical plan in place to avoid becoming overwhelmed and over stressed. I have personally used these tools to enhance my own productivity, development and decision-making skills to create a more balanced lifestyle. I have been studying and personally implementing the philosophies behind personal development and the role emotions and vision play in leadership.

After serving in various leadership and mentoring roles, I have a passion to develop and equip leaders for future generations. Leader By Design was created to help educate and motivate others to discover and develop the leader within.
